Home battery sizing
Check daytime solar supply first, then size the battery for nighttime and remaining use. You can also select full-day outage backup.
See the full results without leaving your contact details. Inputs stay in this browser tab; solar coordinates are sent to PVGIS for the estimate.
01 Solar & inverter
No valid solar result yet. Full-day backup is used for now; calculate solar first to deduct direct daytime supply.

Lights, router & charging
Calculation assumptions
Lights: area×3W×40% simultaneous use×5h; router 10W×24h; charging 0.03kWh/person/day. Fridge 1.2kWh/unit/day; TV 80W×4h/unit; AC average 800W×6h/unit. If a washer is present: one cycle/person/week at 0.5kWh/cycle, not multiplied by machine count. If an electric water heater is present: 1.5kWh/person/day, not multiplied by unit count. A ±30% scenario range is illustrative, not a confidence interval. Measured daily energy overrides estimates. Delivered battery energy assumes nominal×90% discharge×90% efficiency; standby is not separately modelled.
Estimated daily energy
Scenario range for different usage habits
Estimated nominal battery capacity
6.5–12.0 kWhFull-day backup capacity = daily household use ÷ 90% discharge allowance ÷ 90% delivery efficiency. Duration excludes solar and later charging.
Capacity suggestion
16.1 kWh
Illustrative calculation: nominal energy × 90% discharge × 90% inverter efficiency ÷ average load. Full battery, no solar or grid input.
Illustrative energy estimate, not measurements, a global average or a runtime guarantee. It does not confirm simultaneous appliance operation.
Inverter matching
Counts provide only an initial assessment. Confirm simultaneous loads, starting current, battery/BMS output, local voltage and phase before selecting an inverter.
Solar & recharging
Grid charging may suit backup use. To reduce grid purchases or run off-grid, assess solar or another charging source. Sizing requires location, sunlight and installation details.
Continuous-load runtime is supplementary; use daily energy for household planning.
16.1 kWh: 13.0 hours
30.1 kWh: 24.3 hours
32.2 kWh: 26.0 hours
These are assumed average loads, not measured performance. AC consumption varies; washing excludes heating and drying. Actual runtime depends on temperature, reserve and losses. Simultaneous operation requires confirmation of battery/BMS output, inverter rating and starting current.
